Education

Following his graduation from Lancaster High School in 1988, Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University in 1992. Jeff then received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law, Cum Laude, in 1995. In 2004, Jeff completed a LLM, or Master of Laws In Business, at Capital University Law School.

Experience

Jeff joined the firm in December, 1999 and has worked primarily in the areas of business and real estate law. Jeff counsels a wide array of clients engaged in businesses ranging from sole proprietorships and family owned businesses to large corporations. Jeff regularly assists clients with issues such as the formation of their businesses, choice of business entity, contract preparation and analysis, transactions, and the acquisition and sale of stock or assets. Jeff also assists clients with residential and commercial real estate matters including land transactions, development, and landlord - tenant issues.

Before joining the firm, Jeff practiced law for two years as an associate at Fuller & Henry Ltd, a large corporate firm in Toledo, Ohio, where he engaged in commercial litigation. Prior to that, Jeff served for two years as a federal law clerk for the Honorable John W. Potter, Senior United States District Judge for the Northern District of Ohio.

 

Memberships

Jeff is a member of the Ohio State and Fairfield County Bar Associations.

Jeff is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce, where he has been elected 2nd Vice Chair of the Board and is in his fourth year as Chair of the Legislative Action Committee. As Vice President of the Fairfield Heritage Trail Association, Jeff has contributed to the development of the Lancaster Trail and personally oversaw the planning, development, fundraising and construction of the newly completed Johns Trail of Amanda, Ohio.

Jeff is also currently serving as President of the Fairfield County Bar Association for the 2010-11 year, following two years of service as executive officer. He is an active member of the Bar Association’s Business Law Committee and Pro Bono Legal Clinic Committee.

Jeff presently serves as Secretary and Treasurer on the Board for Information & Referral (“211”) of Fairfield County, an agency that has gone through a major transformation during the past five years of Jeff’s tenure – culminating in the 2008 certification of the Agency as the Fairfield County 211 call center. Jeff is a past member and chair of the Review Board for the United Way of Fairfield County, and annually serves in the Partners with Youth Campaign of the Robert K. Fox Family YMCA.
